What we are all about...
The office of Technology Services provides support for
the instructional, research, and technological needs of the
faculty, staff, and students in the College of Business,
including:
Computer Maintenance.
The Tech Services office maintains the computer hardware and
software in the student computer labs and faculty and staff
offices. If you have a question or a problem with your
computer, give us a call at 450-5331.
Computer and Software Training.
Training sessions and workshops can be conducted upon
request for faculty and staff.
High Speed Printing.
There is a networked HP LaserJet 5si high speed printer
located in BBA 102-A for faculty and staff use that is ideal
for printing large documents, mailings or envelopes. To
connect to the printer from your office, give us a call.
Color Printing. There
are is a three color printers available in BBA 102A for
faculty and staff use:
1) HP Color LaserJet 4500 printer for printing brochures.
2) Epson Stylus 1520 Color Printer that will print large
documents up to 13" x 19". This printer prints photo quality
images and is ideal for making signs. 3) HP DesignJet 500PS
printer for printing posters up to 42" wide.
Color Scanning. There
is a color sheet-feed scanner for faculty and staff use in
BBA 102A that can be used to scan graphics and pages of text
to be used in word processing or presentation software.
Color scanners are also available in BBA 210, BBA 309 and
BBA 318.
Folding Machine. A
folding machine is located in our office for faculty and
staff use. It is ideal for folding large quantities of
letters, pamphlets, and questionnaires.
PowerPoint Presentations.
We can help faculty prepare PowerPoint slideshows for
classroom lectures or conferences. We'll show you how to
create your own presentations or you can bring us your
lecture notes or outlines and we'll transfer them to
PowerPoint for you.
Projectors. We have
two projectors (Infocus X2 and LP280) that can be checked
out for meetings. This equipment is available on a first
come-first serve basis, so reserve them in BBA 102A as early
as possible.
CBA Website. Tech
Services Director, Carla Barber, is primarily responsible
for the College of Business Administration website. If
faculty would like information about classes, including
vitae, course syllabi, class notes, or other items added to
their faculty page, contact Carla in BBA 102A (450-5817).
Faculty advisors of student organizations can also arrange
for information about their organization to be posted on the
CBA website.
ListServ. The CBA has
its own ListServ, and all CBA faculty and staff are added
automatically. To send a message to everyone in the CBA, use
this address in your e-mail message:
cba-l@list.uca.edu.
Listservs can also be setup for classes. Students can use
the listserv to correspond with each other concerning class
assignments. Faculty can use the listserv to send
announcements or other messages. Contact Carla (450-5817) to
set up a class list. UCA also has a campus-wide ListServ for
faculty and staff. To subscribe, go to this site and follow

Computer Labs. Our
office is responsible for the computer labs in BBA 301, 302,
and 313. BBA 301 and 302 are teaching labs open only
for classes. BBA 313 is open daily for student use.
